Family Trips

Tailored for families with young children

I’ve never seen so much gratitude and hope” - Eduardo Lins Henrique (Karimu volunteer)

Family Volunteer Trips--tailored for families with young children between the ages of six and eleven.

There is a lot of value to joining a volunteer trip and experiencing a deep connection with the community as you can see from these  testimonials by past volunteers. Your presence is enormously appreciated by the community.

Over the past fifteen years Karimu has developed strong friendships within the community. You will be welcomed as family and become engaged with the community. Especially since each family will be paired with a host family that they will visit and join in their daily chores. Also, you will have the chance to spend time in the schools where you can participate in activities and learn about the day and the life of students.

  • Day one:  Arrive and  spend the night at Meru Mbega

  • Day two: Orientation in the morning and drive to Ayalagaya
