Extend Services Available at Dareda Kati Health Center
Build radiology, pharmacy, and highly infectious disease buildings
Dareda Kati Health Center serves a growing population in a rural area where access to quality medical services remains limited. They serve several neighboring wards and have a service population of ~50,000.
While recent improvements have helped increase the range of services offered, significant gaps remain that prevent the facility from providing comprehensive and timely healthcare, notably radiology, pharmacy, and isolation for infectious patients. This project addresses those needs by building a radiology unit, an infectious disease building, and a pharmacy.
The following projects have been completed already
-
Maternity Ward in Oct 2021.
-
Outpatient Services in Jan 2022.
-
Overnight Ward in May 2022.
-
Expansion of the IT system in April 2022.
-
Reproductive and Children’s Health Building in Sep 2022.
-
Laboratory in Sep 2022.
-
Mortuary in Dec 2022.
This project is running concurrently with the project to provide emergency power and improve night time access for the health center. Medical equipment donations to enhance healthcare are ongoing.
While the community is contributing to the project, as they do to all projects, they are contributing less than we typically ask of them. This is a district-wide resource, not just for the local village. In addition, the timing is such that the local farmers are busy with planting season, and most do not have savings to contribute at this time as the last harvest was several months ago
