Construction of Drainage Canal for Ufani Primary School

Schools leverage their farmland for crop production in order to complement the meager funds received from the government.

Schools in rural Tanzania receive minimal funds from the government. They leverage their farmland for crop production in order to complement their funds. Ufani Primary School farm land was often flooded, thus crop production was low. Water needed to be diverted so that crops could flourish. Because the school is dependent on selling these products for profit to pay for school repairs and supplies, it was critical that they have good crops.

Benefits:

  • Crop production increased enabling needed school repairs and supplies
