Installation of Solar Panels in Dareda Kati Health Clinic
Lack of electricity is a major problem where Karimu works, as it is in most of rural Africa.
Needless to say, lack of electricity is crippling to any attempt to supply medical services. The installation of solar panels donated by volunteers Elizabeth and Brian Kuykendall, owners of Kuykendall Solar, has facilitated the use of the clinic at all hours of the day and night and enabled use of electrical equipment to refrigerate vaccines and provide countless other vital services.
Benefits:
-
Clinic can supply vaccines and other medicines needing refrigeration, as well as services that demand energy-enabled equipment
-
Outside lighting has made surroundings safer and increased use of clinic
